After a hiatus of nearly two decades, the old ABC News theme — with a fresh lick of paint — will once again herald the start of bulletins.

The news will also sound different thanks to the return of the much-loved ABC TV News Theme composed by Peter Wall and Tony Ansell, which was in use from 1986 to 2005.

Most excitedly for older fans, the iconic ABC TV News Theme, which was used from 1986 through to 2005, will be returning, with an updated arrangement and remix from the original 24-track master tapes.
