Iconic ABC NEWS theme returns The ABC TV News Theme was composed by Sydney arranger and keyboard player Tony Ansell and Peter Wall, who worked at the ABC as a radio producer and manager.

Most excitedly for older fans, the iconic ABC TV News Theme, which was used from 1986 through to 2005, will be returning, with an updated arrangement and remix from the original 24-track master tapes.

After a hiatus of nearly two decades, the old ABC News theme — with a fresh lick of paint — will once again herald the start of bulletins.
